Biostimulators

Bio stimulators

Biostimulators are injectable treatments that work by stimulating the body’s natural collagen and elastin production, leading to improved skin elasticity, firmness, and overall rejuvenation. Unlike traditional fillers that add immediate volume, biostimulators work gradually by encouraging the skin to produce its own volume, resulting in a more natural and long-lasting effect.

Key components and examples

Poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA):

A biocompatible substance used in products like Sculptra, known for its collagen-stimulating properties.

Calcium hydroxyapatite (CaHA):

Found in products like Radiesse and HArmonyCa, offering both immediate volume and long-term collagen stimulation.

Polycaprolactone (PCL):

Present in Ellanse, a biostimulator that provides both immediate support and long-term collagen renewal.

Polynucleotides:

Another type of biostimulator that promotes cell regeneration and collagen/elastin production.
